Spectroscopic Characterization of the Cs-137 Energy Spectrum

Summary of Research: Cesium is often used in the calibration of radiation surveying tools and thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs). This study explores the photon energy spectrum for the cal lab’s Cesium-137 irradiator using a combination of Monte Carlo and spectroscopic techniques. The effect of various attenuators on the photon energy spectrum will also be investigated.
