patient dose verification by TLD

The Radiation Monitoring by Mail (RMM) Service of the UWMRRC now provides an ISO/IEC 17025:2015 compliant and A2LA-accredited TLD-based linac output verification service that can be used as part of your TG-51 linac QA protocol. This service is accepted by the American College of Radiology (ACR) to fulfill the accreditation requirement for independent verification of output for each linear accelerator beam.

Four (4) well characterized TLD-100 chips (3.2 x 3.2 x 0.9mm) are packaged in waterproof acrylic ion chamber surrogates (probes). One probe is used per energy.

Simply replace your ion chamber with the TLD probe and irradiate to 100 cGy ADW at 10 cm (photons) or dref (electrons). Return the case containing the TLD probes to the UWMRRC via any overnight delivery service. We will analyze and report your results within 3 days of receipt. For expedited results, please let us know the date you will be performing the QA so that we may correlate Calibration TLD irradiation. Our stated uncertainty at k=2 is 5%.

The service can be used as a one time check on your system or as a subscription. Under the subscription service, we will send out an order confirmation for approval on an annual or semi-annual basis.
